As a cellist, I will present the life of an artist. The reality of being a classical musician, the sacrifices that you need to do in order to succeed, because from the beginning you don't have a "normal" career choice, you will never have a 9-5 job, you'll never work only from Monday to Friday.

Mentally speaking, it's very hard due to high expectations, constant competition, abusive and manipulative environments, hours and hours spending on practicing to reach perfection, a lot of rejection that you will encounter from universities, teachers, events till having a job in an orchestra where is almost like a lottery, a very lonely life because of so much time spent with your instrument- you isolate and start to forget about yourself and others.

Many of us have suicidal ideations, due to all those problems mentioned above, substance abuse, severe depression & anxiety.

After all those mental issues we also encounter a bunch of physical issues as well such as, major back problems from caring heavy instruments all the time, tendonitis, muscle and bone problems (for string and professional piano players) and lip problems (for woodwinds and brass players).

It's a very hard industry to exist in, it's also very beautiful, to create is the most beautiful and pure gift us humans can have and if you succeed in it, at the end it will all be worth it.

Nevertheless, in my film opening I will present the dark side of it.
